- Develop and implement a comprehensive music curriculum that aligns with state standards and supports students’ musical growth
- Teach a variety of music concepts, including vocal techniques, instrumental skills, music theory, and music history
- Plan and conduct engaging music lessons for students in grades K-5, catering to diverse learning styles and abilities
- Organize and lead school performances, concerts, and other musical events to showcase students’ talents and foster a sense of community
- Assess and evaluate students’ progress, providing constructive feedback to support their musical development
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to integrate music education across the curriculum
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity, collaboration, and respect
- Stay current with best practices in music education and participate in professional development opportunities
- Manage classroom resources and materials, ensuring a well-organized and safe learning environment
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong proficiency in vocal and instrumental music, with the ability to teach various musical styles
- Experience working with elementary-aged children in a music education setting preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and the community to support student learning
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or a related field
- Valid teaching certification in Music Education for elementary levels
- Willingness to participate in school events and extracurricular activities related to music education
