Overview
Our client is a highly regarded investment firm with a differentiated real estate platform investing across public and private markets. The firm is seeking an Investment professional to focus on public market opportunities within real estate related securities, with an emphasis on credit and event driven situations. The role offers significant responsibility, direct exposure to senior decision makers, and the opportunity to work across the capital structure.
Responsibilities
• Identify and evaluate public market investment opportunities across real estate related securities, including listed REITs, real estate operating companies, preferred securities, CMBS, and other structured products.
• Perform fundamental bottom up analysis of public real estate companies, including detailed financial modeling, NAV analysis, capital structure assessment, and scenario based valuation work.
• Underwrite event driven and special situations in public real estate markets, including recapitalizations, liability management transactions, spin offs, take privates, restructurings, and capital raises.
• Maintain active coverage of portfolio companies and targeted securities through earnings analysis, management interactions, capital markets monitoring, and sector research.
• Develop and maintain investment theses and dynamic financial models, and present recommendations to the investment committee.
Requirements
• Approximately 4 to 8 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years on the buy side. Experience in long short equity, credit, or multi strategy platforms is preferred.
• Prior background in investment banking, restructuring, or private equity is advantageous but not required.
• Demonstrated experience investing in public securities within capital intensive sectors such as real estate, financials, asset management, infrastructure, or related industries.
• Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, including operating models, NAV analysis, capital structure modeling, and scenario based valuation.
