Overview
Dartmouth Medical Equipment is seeking a detail-oriented Patient Intake & Insurance Verification Specialist to join our growing team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring patients receive the medical equipment they need by reviewing prescriptions, verifying insurance coverage, and coordinating documentation for durable medical equipment (DME).
The ideal candidate is organized, compassionate, and comfortable working with patient information, healthcare providers, and insurance guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and process incoming patient orders and prescriptions for durable medical equipment
- Verify patient insurance coverage and determine eligibility for equipment
- Ensure documentation meets insurance and regulatory requirements
- Enter patient information accurately into internal systems
- Coordinate with physicians’ offices to obtain required documentation
- Communicate with patients regarding order status and required information
- Work closely with the operations and delivery teams to ensure timely fulfillment
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and company policies
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to review documentation and follow insurance guidelines
- Comfortable speaking with patients and medical offices
- Proficiency with computer systems and data entry
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
