Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and Clinics Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs diagnostic studies utilizing radiopharmaceuticals and imaging. Prepares radiopharmaceuticals for administration to patient. 

 

 

This is a Full Time, 40hr per week, benefitted position. 5 8 hr shifts. Monday - Friday 6am -5pm Rotating start times. No Call. No weekend.

Medical Insurance: Two medical plans available through Anthem BC/BS: Employees also receive a base employer contribution of 4% of biweekly pay plus a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) that is matched with a Health Savings Account and a PPO Plan that features higher premiums balanced by copays and lower deductibles.

Retirement: Employee contributions are vested immediately. Biweekly matching contribution of 50% on up to 4% of pay saved—for a maximum match of 2% of pay.

Paid Time Off: Paid time off is accrued per pay period based on hours worked. This includes six paid holidays.

Shift Differential:10% evening, 20% night, and 15% weekend shift differentials when applicable.

Tuition Reimbursement: Up to $3,000 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares radiopharmaceuticals following department manual guidelines.
  • Performs diagnostic studies. Reviews medical record for pertinent information and EKG for stability. Checks for appropriate test requisition. Transfers patients to treatment rooms; explains procedure. Interacts with physician to adjust diagnostic studies program/plan. Position patient according to protocol. Administers intravenous or venous line injections of radiopharmaceuticals as authorized by physician. Recognizes and responds to hypersensitivity or allergic reactions; be prepared to administer C.P.R. Selects proper technique/protocol to obtain best data. Operates and manipulates gamma camera to produce and process images. Develops films or send to PACS.
  • Evaluates data to determine if more data is needed. Operates computer to produce and process clinical data. Manipulates raw data. Reviews studies for correct positioning and overall quality. Makes necessary notation and complete hard copy. Selects pertinent data to forward to physician.
  • Performs quality control procedures to ensure Federal and departmental standards/ requirements are met.
  • Organizes daily work schedule to set inpatient procedure schedules and responds to emergencies as they occur.
  • Inventories drug count daily.
  • Performs daily calibration check on equipment. Logs problems and usage; alerts supervisor, as appropriate. Orders and maintains supplies.
  • Provides for patient care; comfort, safety and patient confidentiality.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.
  • Qualifications

    • Graduate of A.M.A. approved school of Nuclear Medicine, registered with the A.R.R.T. or N.M.T.C.B.

    Required Licensure/Certifications

    • Certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
    • Licensed by the Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy in the state of New Hampshire.
    • Radiologic Technologist - Nuclear Medicine Technology (RT-N) or Nuclear Cardiology Technologist (NCT) or Nuclear Medicine Advanced Associates (NMAA)

    Salary : $3,000 - $20,000
