DarrowEverett LLP is looking for a Family Law Attorney for our Litigation Department. The candidate must have excellent communication and administrative skills, be highly organized and detail-oriented, be able to multitask without sacrificing efficiency, be responsible, and be able to represent the firm, always, in ways that enhance its reputation.
Qualified candidates must be prepared to handle cases from inception through trial, including drafting discovery pleadings and motions, and taking and defending depositions. Strong record of academic achievement, proven writing skills and a talent for advocacy in the courtroom are minimum requirements. Attorneys must be licensed to practice in Florida and in good standing.
Role & Responsibilities
- Overseeing and managing the legal issues that transpire between people that are members of the same family.
- Supervising and directing mediation sessions and offering effective legal advice.
- Organizing and recording all official documents required to file cases.
- Coordinating with staff to prepare an extensive brief on each case that goes to trial.
- Upholding a steady schedule of hearings, court appearances, and conferences.
- Responding to the urgent needs of clients.
- Overseeing family estates and wills.
- Attending trials and court proceedings.
- Regularly updating clients about their cases.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and J.D. Degree
- 8-10 Years Experience
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of the laws and rules, as well as state and federal court procedures
- Ability to handle sensitive matters on a confidential basis.
- Licensed to practice in Florida and in good standing.
- A high degree of initiative, mature judgment, and discretion.
- Organization and time management skills.
