Job Summary
Darling Ingredients is looking for a dynamic, energetic intern who is eager to learn about our company by assisting various departments. The Intern will engage in various work assignments, projects, and activities of varying complexity, structured to enable them to gain the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform at a professional level. They will receive training and mentorship in planning and carrying out activities and assignments.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities

- Fulfilling tasks set out by supervisors from various departments
- Understands the overall concept of the company, including the brand, customer, product goals, and all other aspects of service.
- Accepts designated, business-focus projects to research, propose ideas and solutions
- Attend meetings
- Present final project or presentation as requested by supervisor
- Learning all aspects of plant operations from raw material collection and receiving to finished goods shipment through hands-on experience
- Work closely with a variety of disciplines to learn key concepts of rendering operations including, but not limited to plant / corporate management, safety, environmental, HR, QA, engineering, and sales
- Some classroom time may be expected to cover deep dives into critical pieces of rendering equipment
- All other duties assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- 3rd or 4th year college student or recent graduate
- Eager to learn and work with various departments in the company
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to multitask
- Professionalism
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Physical Demands
- Occasionally lift up to 10 lbs.
- Frequently required to sit for extended periods.
- Occasionally required to walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch.
- Overnight travel to plant locations within the company will be required. I think the attached JD says the position is office-based and just day shift. This position job functions will be carried out in a plant environment and some experience will need to be picked up during night / off shifts.
