Position Objective
The Accounting Clerk is an entry-level position within the Accounting department, with primary responsibility for Accounts Payable and supporting coverage across Accounts Receivable and Royalty functions. This role performs a range of data entry, reconciliation, and administrative tasks that support the accuracy and efficiency of the department's day-to-day operations.
Primary Responsibilities
Accounts Payable & Data Entry
- Process Accounts Payable transactions, including reviewing work-for-hire contracts and ensuring payment accuracy.
- Perform daily data entry into accounting software and/or the corporate database.
- Maintain accurate information in the accounting system and master lists.
Accounts Receivable & Royalties Support
- Provide coverage and task support across Accounts Receivable and Royalty functions as assigned.
- Assist the accounting team with overflow AP, AR, and royalty-related tasks.
Reconciliation & Administrative
- Investigate and assist with the resolution of discrepancies as assigned.
- Track and reconcile expenses for internal reporting.
- File accounting documents in a timely and organized manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Required
- 1 year of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable, or a related administrative role.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, multitask, and work independently in a time-sensitive environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Organized, self-motivated, and capable of problem-solving with minimal direction.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work effectively with outside vendors, creators, and editors, maintaining a professional attitude with a wide range of personalities.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
Preferred
- Associate degree or certificate in Accounting or Finance.
- Knowledge of accounting principles.
- Strong working knowledge of Mac OS.
