What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Help position at DANVILLE SANITARY DISTRICT?
Job Summary
We are seeking energetic and motivated individuals to join our team as Seasonal Help. This position will have split responsibilities of 1) turf and landscape maintenance activities and 2) building cleaning and maintenance. Turf and landscape maintenance may include removal of vegetation and tree work, the use of trimmers, hedgers, and occasionally power equipped mowers and chain saws. Building custodial work is also performed, along with supporting full-time plant maintenance activities, as directed. This position is perfect for those who enjoy working outdoors.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
- The minimum educational requirements for this position are:
- Candidates must hold or be working towards a High School Diploma from a recognized education institution. All candidates must be 18 years or older
EXPERIENCE
- Candidates for this position should possess the following experience, or experience deemed to be equivalent to the following:
- Minimum one (1) year of like experience and/or training in mowing, landscaping, and facility & building maintenance.
- Working knowledge of mowing and power equipment.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
Required Skills:
Successful candidate should possess the following skills or be able to obtain them within 30 days of hire:
- Ability to maintain productivity standards and identify situations when assistance and/or training is needed.
- Exercise proper time management self-guidance in the performance of duties.
- Be dependable regarding attendance, exhibit commitment to the position, show flexibility when necessary.
- Respond to all internal and external interactions and/or conflicts in a Professional Manner.
- Possess & maintain a valid Class D Illinois Driver’s License to drive Danville Sanitary District vehicles.
