Job purpose
Under the direction of the Director of Non-Gaming, the incumbent is responsible for the successful operation and direct management of the Facilities department to include but not exempt to Housekeeping, Janitorial, Maintenance, Grounds, and Transportation departments.
Duties and responsibilities
- Exhibit conduct in accordance with all Illinois Gaming Board (IGB) Rules and Regulations, Federal and State laws and regulations, and Company and departmental policies and procedures.
- Consistently deliver positive, courteous, and professional guest service in all interactions with guests, visitors, vendors, and fellow team members.
- Develops and manages the budget for Facilities, Maintenance, and Transportation.
- Ensure the safety and security of team members and customers.
- Manages, processes and programs to effectively control and reduce injuries.
- Delegate authority and assign responsibilities.
- Development of staff, interviews, hires, and evaluates.
- Responsible for overseeing the management of housekeeping, transportation, and maintenance department.
- Responsible for new and remodeled construction projects, awarding contracts, and overseeing work on projects.
- Responsible for coordinating with other departments on special requests for work to ensure tasks are completed in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintaining strict control on budget while maintaining high standards.
- Review departmental financial data and activities with the General Manager.
- Meet with departmental directors and managers as necessary.
- Monitors construction projects ensuring compliance to specifications and quality of contractor performance.
- Recruit, select, train, coach, counsel, recognize, and retain direct reports who consistently perform actions and behaviors that reinforce excellence in business operations and guest service.
- Stay abreast of current trends and practices within area of responsibility and communicate pertinent information to management, peers, direct reports, and team members as appropriate.
- Promote positive public/team member relations at all times.
- Perform any duties on or off-site involving guest services and quality control including, but not limited to, special events, guest giveaways, crowd control, property cleanliness, and other hospitality functions as needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility.
- Safeguard the confidential information of all team members, department, and company records.
- Demonstrate a commitment to ensuring responsible gaming and responsible alcohol service by discreetly notifying appropriate management of concerns and observations.
- Ensure prompt and discrete notification to senior management and/or the Ethics Hotline of any observation of illegal acts and/or internal ethics violations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; trade school certificate preferred.
- Ability to obtain a gaming license.
- Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in commercial/industrial facilities maintenance required.
- One (1) to three (3) years of experience in a casino environment preferred.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays is required.
- Ability to deliver a service level which creates an atmosphere that makes our guests want to return, giving each guest a positive, memorable experience.
