What you’ll do
- Assists with hiring functions such as, job posting, screening candidates, scheduling and conducting interviews, and tracking candidates.
- Assists with onboarding by preparing for and conducting new hire orientation, arranging OJT training, processing new hire paperwork, and other onboarding activities.
- Trains new hires on using time management systems, communications systems, and other general systems
- Assists with compliance tracking and training requirements; arranges required training, and obtains certificate documentation.
- Handles timeclock requests; Reviews and approves timesheets under the direction of the HR Manager; audits timesheets according to set parameters
- Collects and compiles data for reports, creates reports, maintains records for reporting and tracking, etc.
- Assists the HR Manager with training, compliance, and organizational development projects. Such projects may require research, site visits, creating documents, and revising procedures.
- Handles regular recognition efforts such as employee birthday cards, employee morale initiatives, employee recognition activities, conducting surveys, etc.
- Assists the HR Manager with planning and execution of special events such as, but not limited to, benefits enrollment, team meetings, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.
- Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions and anything that requires interpretation or authority to the HR Manager.
- Assists with communications to employees on company communication platform(s).
- Assists manager in preparing and updating content; uploads and organizes documents and manuals on the company communication platform;
- Maintains the integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality of human resources information, personnel files, and records;
Required Skills & Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Presentation/ training skills
- Strong overall computer skills
- Familiar with Google Workspace
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite - Proficient in Excel (developing, formatting, formulas, macros, etc.)
- Familiarity with presentation software
- Adept at learning specialized software
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Exceptional responsibility to protect confidential information
- Ability to remain neutral, professional and calm in stressful situations, hostile/emotionally-charged situations, and sensitive situations
- Hunger to learn and grow in the area of Human Resources
- Must be willing to accept corrective feedback and adjust accordingly
- Must be willing to take direction well even if in disagreement with decisions or course of action
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least three years of related office experience required.
- Experience in administrative assisting and/or human resources preferred.
- Experience in training others preferred.
- Experience in any part of recruiting and onboarding processes is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
