Responsibilities
- Assist in installing security systems such as alarm panels, CCTV cameras, sensors, and access control devices according to schematics and technical specifications
- Learn to run low voltage cabling and wiring for various security components using power tools and hand tools
- Support senior technicians in troubleshooting system issues using remote access software and diagnostic tools
- Help perform system testing, calibration, and configuration to ensure optimal operation of alarm and surveillance equipment
- Gain experience in reading schematics, electrical diagrams, and system design documents for different security setups
- Participate in site surveys to assess construction environments for proper installation planning
- Maintain detailed records of installations, service reports, and system configurations
Qualifications
- Basic mechanical knowledge and familiarity with construction or electrical work is preferred
- Strong interest in computer networking, telecommunication, and low voltage electrical systems
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, cabling techniques, and schematics reading is advantageous
- Knowledge of fire alarm systems, sensors (motion detectors, glass break), CCTV cameras, IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), and security systems is a plus
- Ability to learn quickly on the job with guidance from experienced technicians
- Good communication skills and a proactive attitude towards safety and quality standards
- Prior service technician experience or background in locksmithing or surveillance is beneficial but not required
