Sr. Category Manager, Target

About The Job

We’re looking for a Senior Category Manager to join our Target team—someone who can blend shopper and category insights with industry‑leading analytics to build strategies that accelerate growth and expand share in the Dairy aisle. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with partners across Target and Danone to shape a forward‑thinking, omnichannel category strategy. You’ll also lead ongoing improvements to our category growth process by identifying white‑space opportunities and turning powerful tools into actionable outcomes.

In this role, you will

• Champion category management best practices through strong analytics and meaningful consumer/shopper insights.
• Leverage multiple data sources to build insightful reporting, including sales/share trends, opportunity gaps, assortment assessments, planogram analysis, etc.
• Serve as the go‑to resource for your customer by translating syndicated data into clear, compelling insights and recommendations.
• Develop strategic business plans that deliver category volume and share goals.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams (Consumer Insights, eCommerce, Center of Excellence) to design tailored solutions aligned with key customer initiatives.
• Lead planogram development and execution to support Target’s category growth strategies.
• Coach, mentor, and develop one direct report.
  
  

The salary range for this position is $130,000 – $175,000 USD. The exact salary offered will depend on several factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience, geographic location, internal equity, and market conditions. About You

The ideal candidate brings

• A bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience in Category Management, Customer Management, Insights, or Sales Strategy.
• CPG experience required; Target experience strongly preferred.
• Proven leadership experience, including developing and growing talent.
• Deep expertise in syndicated data sources (Circana, POS/Panel, loyalty data).
• A strong ability to build trusted internal and external partnerships that drive impact.
• Strong analytics with emerging capabilities to turn insights into action.
• Understanding of Target’s assortment and planogram processes.
• Hands‑on experience with shelving standards and tools (JDA, POG Gen, etc.).
• Exceptional planning, analytical, communication, and presentation skills, with strong PowerPoint and Excel capabilities.
