Primary Responsibilities:

· Interface with vendors to determine product changes or enhancements to improve designs or streamline and improve production and serve to resolve any existing problems

· Work hand in hand with CEO, Purchasing and International Assistant to source or design new products while maintaining minimal costs.

· Provide Technical Expertise to manage the acquisition of components, products, equipment and services involving strategic sourcing, supplier evaluation, negotiations, while ensuring technical specifications are met.

· Review new O.E.M. applications with Customer’s engineering group to determine compatibility and work with CEO to onboard all new customers and determine appropriate pricing.

· Utilize SolidWorks to design & develop new products, revise existing files, produce prototypes on a 3D Printer.

1. Supervise Q.C. Inspectors

a) Supervise the QC Inspectors and review all lab tests, reports and findings confirming that products, components & accessories are manufactured to spec and contain the correct agency markings as per the Engineering Drawings stored on the network.

b) Develop inspection criteria for Inspection Reports of new products.

a) Verify problems with existing products based on customer complaints via lab tests.

b) Test new or modified designs to determine whether material or spec changes could cause product failure.

c) Provide Supervision on critical test setups in the lab.

d) Supervise the In-house QC Inspector regarding the Inspection of finished goods received in a shipment and compare them to Danner’s BOM’s.

e) Review all findings of defective components by assembly workers with the QC Inspectors. Document and report them to Purchasing/Production and the vendor. Contact vendor with defect details. Request a copy of their Corrective Action Plan and replacements or credit.

2. Purchasing Support

c) Assist and advise Purchasing Department of technical specs required for components and materials.

d) Evaluate pricing, potential material or component changes, MOQ’s and lead times for products and assist in the qualification process of vendors.

e) Interface with International and domestic suppliers to provide technical expertise.

3. Product / Tech Support

a) Analyze, test & identify problems found on selected returns sent to Engineering’s attention.

b) Provide in-house training on product usage, design & repair for newly hired Customer Service personnel.

c) Respond to technical inquiries regarding applications & setups, material compatibilities, CAD file requests, installation recommendations.

4. Create /Maintain Documentation

a) Create and release Instruction Manuals, Tech Data Sheets, Engineering Change Notices, Bills of Materials, Work Instructions and Assembly Procedure sheets for production areas. Maintain and update Engineering drawing files, tech documents & libraries.

b) Maintain Listings and Multi-Listing Files and all related Standards libraries.

5. Regulatory Agency File Maintenance - UL, ETL, EPA, CSA

a) Request quotes for new projects and modifications to existing agency files.

b) Review Invoices for accuracy prior to submitting to A/P for payment.

c) Respond to Variation notices promptly to avoid halting production and incurring fines.

d) When needed, work with auditor during quarterly inspections.

e) Complete & submit annual registration documents to maintain current certifications on all products.

6. Resolve problems on the factory floor

a) Maintain / Rebuild equipment on the production floor.

b) Determine whether the severity of any non-conformities justify Production shutdown / Quarantine until replacement parts arrive.

7. Additional Responsibilities

a) Fabricate prototype parts in the R&D area.

b) Exhibit at trade shows occasionally

c) Special projects and added work as needed.

Required skills:

· Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures and guidelines.

· Ability to read measurement tools and interpret mechanical drawings.

· Effective communication skills to report issues and collaborate with team members.

· Capable of thriving in a demanding environment with tight deadlines and last-minute needs.

· Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

· Able to independently set-up and perform lab test and document results.

· Able to “switch gears” and perform different tasks at a moment’s notice.

· Highly motivated, self-disciplined, detail-oriented person with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, follow-up and follow through. A team player who can work efficiently, effectively, and harmoniously.

· Must be able to interact with Management colleagues as well as Production and Warehouse personnel.

Qualifications:

· AAS in Mechanical Engineering Technology at a minimum preferred.

· MUST BE computer literate with Proficiency in SolidWorks, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel. Intermediate familiarity with Publisher, Adobe Illustrator. Knowledge in NetSuite or other manufacturing systems a plus.

· Mechanical Manufacturing work experience required with some specialty on-the-job training to be provided.

· Knowledge of water pumps, magnetics and electrical wiring skills a plus.

· Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

· Must be legally authorized to work in the USA.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
