JOB SUMMARY
The Preventative Maintenance Assistant is responsible for performing routine maintenance of company equipment to include deep cleaning CNC machines, dust collectors, and vents, changing oil and hydraulic fluids, belts, filters, and greasing zerk fittings. The Preventative Maintenance Assistant also keeps detailed maintenance records on the company’s internal database and assists Facilities Mechanic and other projects as assigned.

The Preventative Maintenance Assistant directly reports to the Facilities Manager
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR POSITION
Education, Training, and/or Experience
- Valid WA State Driver’s License with Clean Driving Record
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience working on machines or automotive equipment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

- Regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Frequently required to drive company vehicle to perform work tasks
- Frequently required to use eye‐hand coordination, hand and feet movements, and finger dexterity
- Occasionally required to climb, twist, stoop, bend, squat, reach, crouch/kneel, sit without support, and lift objects up to 50lbs
- Occasionally required to work on elevated platforms (e.g., ladders, scissor lifts)
- Occasionally required to work in uncomfortable environments (e.g., dusty, hot, wet) for extended periods of time
- Close vision, color, peripheral, depth perception and the ability to focus
- Hearing level within normal/average range
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to take direction and work with minimal supervision
- Ability to operate power and hand tools common to the building maintenance trade
- Ability to operate material handling equipment including forklifts, scissor lifts, and pallet jacks
- Possess a willingness to follow safety procedures at all times, respecting all safety warning signs
- Possess a basic understanding of manufacturing safety regulations
- Ability to communicate effectively in the English language
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematic and wiring diagrams
- Ability to work occasional overtime based on company needs
- Possess a general knowledge in building maintenance (e.g., HVAC, electrical, grounds, carpentry, paint)
- Familiarity of Material Safety Data Sheets and proper chemical handling
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Drive company vehicle between plants to perform tasks assigned
- Blow out or replace filters
- Clean and change fluids in CNC machines, dust collectors, vacuum pumps, air compressors and other industrial equipment
- Inspect machinery for proper operation
- Perform basic troubleshooting
- Report and document equipment malfunction and safety concerns
- Maintain accurate maintenance records
- Pick up tools and supplies at local vendors as requested
- Perform administrative duties such as completing spreadsheets, typing and filing
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Other duties as assigned
