Role:

Supports financial and accounting decision making information by collecting, analyzing, investigating, and reporting financial and accounting data. Improves operational efficiencies by recommending process improvements and quality controls. Manage, recommends and implements credit union and department policies, procedures, projects, training, and communication strategies for credit and ATM/debit card programs.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Provides financial analysis, forecasting, reporting, variance analysis, cost benefit analysis, and other decision support services to executive management. Assists in development of financial, statistical and accounting records of DFCU. Assists management in the implementation of new financial & accounting programs and procedures. Provides recommendations on process improvements and quality controls. Coordinates with management to ensure solutions, products, and programs are operational and performing as designed and forecasted.

Manages accounting department and communicates direction, organization information and feedback. Evaluates employee performance, on a consistent, timely, and regular basis. Coordinates the daily workflow of the employees in the department (assigns and monitors tasks of staff members, provides training, sets schedules, ensures policies and procedures are followed, and deadlines are met), ensuring the highest levels of support to members and frontline departments.

Oversees debit and credit card services. Monitors the rewards programs for debit and credit cards, additionally measure and report the cost effectiveness of these programs. Responsible for risk management related to fraud and charge backs, additionally monitor fraud trends, industry news and the ability to make decisions that reduce losses. Oversee processing and managing of charge backs and bond claims.

Assists in preparations of annual budget including balance sheet, income statement, cash flows, depreciation and amortization forecasts.

Support ALM related initiatives, including work with external third parties involved in the ALM process as applicable to ensure accurate and timely results. Manages the CECL process.

Compile and analyze data for application to loan and deposit pricing, and to loan loss valuation. Prepare periodic updates to ALLL loss data and ratios.

Develops a cost model to evaluate both cost and benefits associated with current and future products and services, including recommended product/service modification, improvement or elimination.

Responsible for NCUA call report filing and completes miscellaneous financial analyses, reports, records.

Assist in developing and administering vendor managements processes.

Works with auditors/examiners on audits, including year-end comprehensive audit.

Develops and maintains comprehensive procedures for all responsibilities and trains staff members to ensure backup support.

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience- Two years to five years of similar or related experience (financial services experience preferred).

Education- A college degree with an emphasis in finance, accounting, or economics preferred.

Interpersonal Skills- Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.

Other Skills- Knowledge of relating accounting and computer applications. Thorough understanding of investments, financial research, and reporting. Ability to apply logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
