Assembler / 1st Shift

Job Description

Assemble and bubble test valves according to blueprint and engineering specifications.

This is a 1st Shift position.

Job Responsibilities

• Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Load and unload valves into assembly fixtures.
• Transport valves to work stations.
• Retrieve information from computer on assembly instructions.
• Operate a label stamping machine.
• Use assembly drawings to build required parts according to orders.
• Maintain minimum production levels.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Notify supervisor of shortages of assembly supplies.
• Comprehend and execute instructions from engineering blueprints, routings, work instructions, and Engineering Test Orders.
• Use assembly/torque tools.
• May analyze defective valves and repair to conforming specifications.
• Retrieve replacement parts from stockroom.
• Complete accompanying paperwork for assembly operations.
• Install and remove bubble test fittings.
• Load and unload testing devices.
• Wear protective equipment.
• Accurately communicate information to co-workers and supervision.

Background & Skills

Job Qualification Requirements:

• High School education or GED equivalency
• Must have basic math skills
• Must be able to work standing for extended periods
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. repetitively
• Must have good motor skills
• Must be able to read and write legibly
• Must be able to work while wearing safety equipment

Work Environment:

While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately high.
