DEFINITION
Under general direction from the County Executive and staff in the County Executive office, assist the County Executive by performing a variety of responsible administrative and research activities connected with county operations.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

Assist the County Executive and staff in the County Executive office by performing a variety of administrative and research connected to county operations. Assist the County Executive in the preparation of responses to requests from constituents. Monitor local media outlets and assist in managing social media accounts of the County Executive office. Draft press releases, fact sheets, talking points, and statements to respond to media inquiries from local outlets. Conduct issue research and planning as assigned by the County Executive. Monitor county committee hearings when needed. Perform other duties as assigned.Education, Training and Experience:
Any combination of education, training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in public administration or related field.
Special Requirements
Must be able to work unusual hours including nights, weekends, and holidays at times.

Professional office work environment. Work involves walking, sitting, standing, bending, stooping, twisting, turning, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, grasping and reaching within normal ranges. Ability to lift and move a variety of work-related materials weighing up to 25 pounds with/without assistance. Manual dexterity using fine and gross motor skills. Ability to speak and be heard by others. Ability to see and hear within normal ranges with or without corrective devices. Prolonged computer and phone use.Knowledge of modern government and public administration principles. Knowledge of county organization and operation. Ability to follow through on administrative programs. Ability to correlate the various objectives of the government programs. Ability to make effective verbal and written presentations to the County Executive and staff in the County Executive office and County Departments.
