Position –Housekeeping Supervisor
REPORTS TO: Director of Housekeeping
DEPARTMENT: Housekeeping
Position Summary:
To ensure Dancing Bear Aspen meets the highest standards of boutique residence club cleanliness through the selection, training, direction, supervision and inspection of staff performance. Areas include the Residences, common areas, and back of the house. Oversees the Housekeeping Department in the absence of the Director of Housekeeping and must be available weekends.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Hire, train, supervise and inspect the work of staff to fulfill job descriptions and ensure meeting objectives while operating in a safe manner. Develop check lists.
- Run Daily/weekly Housekeeping Report and assign room attendant and houseman staff to meet demand.
- Sign out room attendant equipment including carts, keys and vacuums daily and ensure their return and security.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state and federal statutes regarding employment and compensation.
- Coach and counsel employees, documenting performance issues.
- Conduct daily staff meetings.
- Propose material, equipment and supply purchases and select products for approval to meet objectives.
- Maintain close communication throughout each day with the Reception Desk and Maintenance regarding room cleaning status, room maintenance problems and out-of-order residences.
- Update Reception Desk and RDP Property Management System with room status changes on a timely basis.
- Complete work orders to advise the Maintenance Department of required repairs in rooms and public areas.
- Ensure proper maintenance and care of all operating equipment to ensure working order and intended operating life.
- Maintain all storage areas in a neat and organized manner.
- Conduct regular inventories of operating supplies for purposes of control and to re-stock in time to meet objective.
- Complete Housekeeping Daily Checklist each day.
- Creative thinking to surpass member expectations through service and employee attitude.
- Assist other departments where possible and think of ways to cross-train all staff.
- Inventory and maintenance of all linens, terry, and kitchen packages.
- Maintain laundry storage and linen quality control.
- Maintain excellent rapport with outside vendors.

QUALIFICATIONS
1. Previous experience in housekeeping supervision and/or degree in hospitality management.
2. Good written and verbal English communication skills.
3. Ability to do physical work including considerable time spent on one's
feet walking, standing, and climbing & descending stairs, lifting up to
50 lbs, moving heavy objects such as furniture, storage boxes,
supplies, etc.
Must be available weekends.
