Duties
- Design and deliver engaging hip hop dance lessons tailored to different age groups and skill levels, incorporating elements of rhythm, style, and improvisation
- Develop comprehensive curriculum plans that promote technical skills, creativity, and performance confidence
- Manage classroom dynamics effectively to ensure a safe, respectful, and motivating learning environment
- Provide constructive feedback to students to support their growth and encourage continuous improvement
- Organize rehearsals and assist with choreography for performances or showcases
- Maintain accurate attendance records and progress reports for all students
- Incorporate cultural context and history of hip hop dance into lessons to enrich student understanding
Skills
- Proven experience in teaching hip hop dance or related styles such as street dance or breakdancing
- Strong knowledge of dance techniques, choreography development, and performance skills
- Excellent classroom management skills with the ability to motivate diverse learners
- Ability to adapt lesson plans to accommodate different learning styles and abilities
- Experience working with children, teens, or adult learners in educational settings
- Familiarity with curriculum development and lesson planning strategies
- Knowledge of theater arts, movement improvisation, and rhythm training techniques
- Skills in photography or videography are a plus for documenting student progress or performances
