Experienced Underground Utility Laborer
Dan's Construction and Excavation, Inc. is seeking an Experienced Underground Utility Laborer to join our growing team. We are looking for a dependable, safety-minded individual with experience in underground utility construction who takes pride in producing quality work and contributing to a successful crew. This position offers competitive pay ranging from $30-$45 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the installation of underground utilities including water mains, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and related infrastructure.
- Work alongside equipment operators to safely excavate, grade, and install utility systems.
- Set grades and elevations using lasers and grade rods.
- Assist with pipe installation, bedding, backfilling, and compaction.
- Perform utility connections and repairs.
- Read and understand utility plans, grade stakes, and construction layouts.
- Ensure trenches, excavations, and work areas are maintained in accordance with safety regulations.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, compaction equipment, and other jobsite equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of underground utility construction experience preferred.
- Experience installing water, sewer, and storm sewer systems.
- Knowledge of trench safety practices and excavation procedures.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license required.
- CDL preferred but not required.
- Experience reading plans and grades is a plus.
- Occasional out-of-town work may be required (expenses paid).
