Vice President, Business Development

Damora Therapeutics is an innovative biotechnology company that aims to fundamentally redefine care for people with hematologic disorders. We are advancing a new generation of biologics to treat mutant calreticulin-driven myeloproliferative neoplasms, including essential thrombocythemia and myelofibrosis, where there is significant medical need for new disease-modifying treatments. Founded by Fairmount Funds, we are a well-capitalized public company with multiple programs with best-in-class potential on track to enter clinical development in 2026. Our goal is to rapidly bring forward optimized treatments with broad mutation coverage and exceptional convenience to dramatically improve patient outcomes.

The VP of Business Development will play a key role in the evolution of Damora Therapeutics’ portfolio. Working closely with the Executive Team, New Product Planning, and Development functions, this individual will identify and execute opportunities to accelerate the development of Damora assets through strategic collaborations, and lead search and evaluation work to expand the portfolio of preclinical and clinical stage assets in line with corporate priorities. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this foundational role will contribute significantly to portfolio strategy, guiding potential opportunities from asset identification through transaction closing.

  • Partner with New Product Planning to provide commercial assessments and market insights for early-stage and clinical assets.
  • Represent the company at major industry conferences (e.g., J.P. Morgan, ASCO, ASH, AACR) to build a robust network of potential biopharma partners.
  • Oversee existing partnerships to ensure all milestones are met and maintain productive, long-term relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Monitor the competitive landscape, emerging scientific trends, and recent M&A activity to refine the company’s competitive positioning.

Competencies

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across matrixed, cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to timelines and detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; build trust and foster relationships internally and externally

  • Demonstration of strategic thinking and high-level planning while also balancing the ability to manage and execute operational details
  • Deep understanding of drug development and commercialization
  • Strong analytical, presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (PhD, MD, MBA or equivalent) required
  • 12 years of experience in business development, corporate strategy, investment banking, or related roles within biotech, pharma, or life sciences
  • Proven track record of successfully negotiating and closing complex strategic transactions (licensing, M&A, partnerships)
