We are a mid-size, well-established law firm, seeking an experienced legal assistant looking to put down roots in a friendly, team-oriented environment.
Duties, Responsibilities & Qualifications include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting several attorneys
- Managing attorney calendars to include scheduling and tracking appointments, meetings, and deadlines
- Organizing and maintaining case files
- Preparing and compiling legal documents and correspondence to include proofreading, assembling, finalizing, mailing/e-mailing, and docketing of corporate, estate planning and trust documents
- Experience with preparing and recording/e-recording corporate, real estate, and tax forms with DCCA, BOC, Real Property, and Tax offices according to firm policies and legal requirements preferred
- Maintaining and processing corporate annual reports as required
- Input, review, proofread, and finalize attorney timesheets, and process billings and expenses to meet deadlines
- General administrative responsibilities including, but not limited to organizing, typing, scanning, copying, and shredding
- Two (2) years of experience working in a law firm
- Proficient in Windows 11 and Microsoft Office 365 applications (Outlook Word, and Excel)
- Ability to work within a team and independently when required
- Skilled in task-switching, prioritizing, and organization
- Ability to abide and follow established office protocols and procedures, receive constructive feedback and direction, and comply with established directives
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including professional and courteous customer service
- Punctuality with a strong attendance record
- Ability to type a minimum of 60 words per minute (wpm)
- Additional duties as assigned
Optional Qualifications:
- Proficient in speaking, reading and writing Japanese a plus, but not required
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
Work Schedule:
This is a full-time, non-exempt position, Monday through Friday. All work will be performed in person in a secure, climate-controlled office setting. Infrequently, additional hours may be requested depending on attorney and/or firm needs.
