Job Title: Receptionist (Fitness Center)
Classification: Non-Exempt
Role Description
The Receptionist will greet and direct members, guests and staff as they enter the fitness center. Our ideal candidate has a friendly and easygoing personality while also being very perceptive and disciplined. A customer-oriented approach is essential. Ultimately, the role of the Receptionist is to make guests and visitors feel comfortable and valued while on our premises, thus contributing to an overall great customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Keep the front desk tidy and presentable with all necessary material.
- Answer questions and address complaints.
- Answer all incoming calls and redirect them or keep messages.
- Check, sort and forward emails.
- Stay up to date with all Club email communications, memos, newsletters and website materials.
- Continuously update and maintain records and files for fitness usage.
- Oversee office supplies and conduct daily inventory checks on snacks, beverages, and paper products.
- Perform daily checklist tasks and ensure fitness equipment is cleaned regularly.
- Schedule group exercise sessions and process daily charges.
- Take up other duties as assigned by management.
The ideal candidate will have the following experience, skills, and knowledge:
- High School diploma or equivalent a plus
- Proven experience as front desk representative, agent or relevant position
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Proficient in basic computer applications, such as MS Office.
The ideal candidate will have the following competencies and qualities:
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Light to moderate physical activity, including lifting and moving items up to 25 pounds.
- Knowledge of basic gym operations and fitness services is desirable.
- A positive attitude and a passion for health and fitness.
