High School Interventionist
SUMMARY: This position will work alongside our current Interventionist to support the academic needs of students at DCG High School, along with being a support for classroom teachers. This person will work with general education teachers to support the needs of students in the general education setting. This could include supporting individual students with academic accommodations, small group classroom support, and curricular planning and implementation support for teachers. Additionally, this educator may provide direct instruction and intervention supports to students based on individual needs. This person will be a part of the Student Services Term, Interventionist PLC. The Interventionist PLC will use data to help diagnose, support, and initiate implementation of the needed skills and strategies to support DCG students.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver small-group and individual intervention aligned with district curriculum and Iowa Academic standards.
- Use universal screening, diagnostic assessments, and progress-monitoring tools to identify student needs and measure growth.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to align intervention strategies with core instruction and support transfer of skills.
- Participate in MTSS problem-solving teams and contribute to intervention planning and documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, intervention fidelity, attendance, and performance data.
- Communicate regularly with teachers, families, and administrators regarding student progress and instructional recommendations.
- Provide accommodations and modifications as required by IEPs, 504 plans, or identified needs.
- Integrate technology and digital literacy tools to enhance instruction and student engagement.
- Participate in required meetings, professional development, and district trainings.
- Promote and adhere to district policies, procedures, and professional standards of conduct.
EDUCATION & RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Reading, Literacy, Math or a related field required.
- Experience teaching high school students (grades 9-12) preferred.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, OR CERTIFICATIONS
- Criminal background check required.
- Valid State of Iowa teaching license required.
