VP Software Engineering and AI Platforms

Our client is seeking a Vice President of Engineering & AI to lead our software and data platform organization, building the foundations that power analytics, products, and AI at scale. This role owns platform strategy, execution, and organizational leadership across software engineering, data engineering, cloud infrastructure, and applied AI.

You will partner closely with executive leadership to translate business priorities into durable platforms, scale high-performing teams, and ensure systems are reliable, secure, and future-ready.

• Set and execute the platform strategy for software, data, and cloud, aligned with business goals.

• Lead and scale teams across platform engineering, data engineering, and core services.

• Build and evolve enterprise data platforms that support ingestion, governance, analytics, and AI.

• Ensure delivery of high-quality, resilient, and scalable systems, with strong engineering standards and operational discipline.

• Establish platform abstractions, shared services, and developer tooling that accelerate product and AI teams.

• Guide adoption of AI capabilities within platforms and internal workflows where they improve reliability, automation, and insight.

• Balance long-term platform investments with incremental delivery and measurable outcomes.

• Define engineering metrics, operating rhythms, and technical standards that drive accountability.

• Communicate platform roadmaps, tradeoffs, and progress to executive stakeholders.

• 10 years across software engineering, data engineering, and cloud platforms, with senior leadership experience at the Director or VP level.

• Deep experience building and operating platforms, shared services, and data infrastructure at scale.

• Strong technical judgment in distributed systems, cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred), and modern data stacks.

• Experience enabling analytics, governance, and AI through well-designed data pipelines and platforms.

• Proven ability to lead leaders, scale teams, and manage complex technical portfolios.

• Clear, concise communicator with strong executive presence.
