Tax Partner - Alternative Investments - CPA Firm - Boston - Hybrid
A national CPA firm is expanding its New England presence and seeking a Tax Partner to lead its Alternative Investments practice. This is a direct-admit Partner role (no book required), with consideration for experienced Directors/Managing Directors ready to step up.
Responsibilities:
- Build and lead the Boston-based Asset Management tax practice
- Serve as a trusted advisor to private equity, hedge fund, venture capital, and private credit clients
- Drive business development and expand market presence across New England
- Advise on partnership taxation, fund structuring, and carried interest
- Oversee complex tax compliance (Forms 1065, K-1s, flow-through structures)
- Guide clients on multi-state and federal tax matters
- Collaborate across tax, audit, and advisory to deliver integrated solutions
- Recruit, mentor, and develop top talent
Qualifications:
- CPA required, MST or LLM preferred
- 12-15 years of tax experience focused on alternative asset managers
- Deep expertise in partnership taxation and fund structures
- Proven leadership and team-building experience
- Strong client relationship and business development skills
This is an excellent opportunity for a driven tax professional to help build out the Tax practice of a growing firm. This position offers the chance to join at the Partner level without bringing a book of business. The expected base compensation will be between $300K-$325K.
