Our client is a highly successful law firm in Boston. They are seeking a 4 year accounting professional to join their team as a Senior Accountant. This role will pay between 100-120K base salary, depending on relevant and applicable experience.

Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial and accounting records with strong attention to detail and adherence to internal controls
- Update, maintain, and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and the accounting manual
- Evaluate accounting processes and implement improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
- Ensure proper use and functionality of accounting systems related to timekeeping, billing, bookkeeping, and reporting
- Mentor and review work of junior and staff accountants
- Monitor daily cash activity and communicate balances to accounting and finance leadership
- Maintain accounts payable payment calendars and oversee timely vendor, tax, and credit card payments
- Review and approve all outgoing payments (ACH, wire, check), ensuring accuracy, documentation, and proper authorization
- Manage fixed assets, including reconciliation and removal of disposed assets
- Ensure accurate document retention within the document management system
- Prepare and post monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries, including intercompany activity, depreciation, and benefit-related entries
- Perform month-end bank reconciliations for payroll, operating, money market, IOLTA/escrow, and other accounts; investigate and resolve variances
- Reconcile escrow accounts and ensure compliance with abandoned property laws and regulations
- Review general ledger activity regularly and ensure expenses are properly classified; coordinate new GL accounts as needed
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, including revenue, receivables, payables, and trustee fees, and communicate findings to leadership
- Process partner draws, distributions, capital interest, and retirement-related payments; maintain partner capital and net worth records
- Coordinate payroll funding, postings, and reconciliations; resolve variances with the payroll team
- Support annual reviews, tax filings, government reporting, and internal and external audits
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 4–8 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a professional services environment
- Strong analytical, organizational, and accounting skills with exceptional attention to detail
- High level of integrity and discretion in handling financial and fiduciary matters
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills when working with attorneys, staff, and leadership
- Ability to manage complex financial analysis under deadlines and frequent interruptions
- Must be willing to working fully onsite 5X a week
