An established insurance company is seeking a Senior Accountant to support its corporate accounting and financial reporting functions. This role offers exposure to complex insurance accounting matters, collaboration with actuarial teams, and involvement in evolving IFRS 17 standards.
Responsibilities:Perform corporate accounting activities across multiple entities, including complex general ledger functions
Prepare monthly and quarterly journal entries, account reconciliations, and reclassification entries
Produce timely financial reports, analyses, and management deliverables
Support internal controls, SOX compliance, and audit processes
Monitor insurance loss programs and related transactions for accuracy and completeness
Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements and supplemental schedules
Contribute to statutory and external reporting requirements
Support and help drive the ongoing implementation of IFRS 17
Partner with actuarial teams to ensure alignment of data, assumptions, and reporting
Develop and enhance efficient, repeatable accounting and reporting processes
Mentor junior team members and contribute to special projects as needed
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, plus 2–5 years of experience within the insurance industry. (IFRS, STAT, U.S. GAAP)
Public accounting experience and IFRS 17 experience strongly preferred
CPA and/or Master’s degree preferred but not required
Salary : $80,000 - $95,000
