Manager, Technical Accounting & Transactions
North of Boston, MA (Hybrid)
A leading publicly traded global investment management firm is seeking a Manager, Technical Accounting & Transactions to join its Finance team. Reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer, this is a high-visibility role within a collaborative, partnership-driven organization.
This firm partners with independent investment managers globally and operates with a lean, entrepreneurial culture where team members have meaningful impact and cross-functional exposure.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate accounting implications of transactions with existing and prospective partner firms
- Advise senior leadership on technical accounting matters and emerging regulatory developments
- Interpret and implement new accounting guidance (FASB, SEC, IASB, PCAOB)
- Determine accounting treatment for complex areas including:
- Business combinations
- Non-controlling interests and equity incentives
- Equity method investments
- Partnership and LLC economic sharing arrangements
- Capital planning transactions, including derivatives
- Partner with external auditors to support efficient audit processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- CPA strongly preferred
- 5 years of progressive experience with significant technical accounting exposure
- Public accounting experience strongly preferred
