Accounting Manager- Wilmington, MA
We are seeking an Accounting Manager to join a fast-growing consumer products company located in Wilmington, MA. The Accounting Manager will oversee day-to-day accounting operations for its U.S. entity. This role will manage core accounting functions including AP/AR, cash management, payroll, intercompany transactions, commissions, and financial reporting, while ensuring GAAP compliance and supporting process improvements. The ideal candidate will have 4 years of hands-on accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.
This is a direct hire position that will pay a base salary of $115-130k on a base salary (depending on experience). This position is required to be onsite 3 days per week.
Responsibilities:Oversee AP/AR processing, including ACH and wire payments, customer receipts, merchant services, refunds, disputes, and receivables tracking.
Manage cash activity and financial reporting, ensuring accurate GL postings, reconciliations, P&L and balance sheet review, month-end close support, and weekly cash flow reporting to leadership and Italy-based stakeholders.
Serve as lead contact for accounting systems and implementations (QuickBooks, Fishbowl) and support back-office and CRM process improvements.
Review and approve commission reports, related journal entries, and ACH disbursements; support sales rep and trainer onboarding and expense adjustments.
Oversee corporate credit card activity, including reconciliations, expense classification, credit management, and approval of large purchases.
Manage intercompany transactions, reconciliations, merchant transfers, monthly reporting, and purchase order approvals with the Italy entity.
Ensure GAAP compliance, audit readiness, inventory count coordination, and maintenance of organized financial records.
Oversee payroll processing, timesheet review, payroll journal entries, employee onboarding documentation, and 401(k) administration.
Manage insurance records and audits, serve as primary contact for merchant service providers, and review fees for optimization opportunities.
Maintain accurate corporate records, including contracts, tax filings, bank statements, licenses, payroll records, loans, and trademarks.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
4 years of progressive accounting experience, including people/process oversight.
Public Accounting or Private industry experience is preferred.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting.
Experience with QuickBooks and accounting systems implementations.
Hands-on experience with payroll, commissions, intercompany accounting, and audits.
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
