Lead Project Manager - D.C. Metro area:
Daksta is currently partnered with a well-established, privately held general contractor with a long-standing presence in the D.C. Metro area, seeking an experienced Project Manager to support its growing project portfolio. The firm delivers complex construction projects primarily within the federal, institutional, and select private sectors.
With decades of consistent performance and no history of revenue decline, the company offers the financial stability and internal resources of a large contractor, while maintaining a collaborative, low-bureaucracy operating environment.
Role Overview:
The Project Manager will be responsible for the full lifecycle delivery of assigned projects, from preconstruction through closeout. Projects are typically complex in nature and may include secure federal facilities, institutional buildings, higher education, or similarly technical work.
This role requires close coordination with internal leadership, project teams, and external stakeholders, with a strong emphasis on planning, cost control, schedule management, and quality execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage project delivery from contract award through completion.
- Oversee budgets, schedules, subcontractor performance, and project controls.
- Coordinate with owners, designers, inspectors, and internal leadership.
- Lead project teams with a hands-on, detail-oriented approach.
- Ensure compliance with contract requirements, safety standards, and quality expectations.
- Participate in preconstruction and procurement activities as required.
Candidate Profile:
- Experience as a Project Manager on mid-to-large scale construction projects ($30M ).
- Background in federal, institutional, higher education, or other complex construction preferred.
- Strong understanding of cost management, scheduling, and contract administration
- Stable employment history with demonstrated project ownership
- Experience working for ENR top 400 ranked general contractors preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Ability to work within the Washington, D.C. metro area.
