The Assistant Production Manager will oversee evening shift production, ensuring efficiency, quality, safety, and food safety standards are consistently met. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Collaborate with the Production Manager to develop and implement production plans and schedules for the evening shift.
2. Supervise and provide guidance to production staff, including assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and conducting regular performance evaluations.
3. Ensure adherence to production schedules, foods safety standards, quality standards, and safety protocols.
4. Identify and address any issues or obstacles that may arise during the production process, implementing solutions to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
5. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the materials management team to ensure adequate supply of raw materials and components.
6. Collaborate with other departments, such as quality assurance, maintenance, and logistics, to optimize production processes and resolve any cross-functional issues.
7. Maintain accurate records of production activities, including production output, downtime, and OEE metrics.
8. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
9. Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement among production staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business management, food science or agriculture related field preferred.
· Previous experience in a production manufacturing environment with at least 5 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
· Strong understanding of production processes and equipment.
· Familiar with OSHA standards, FDA regulations and the SQF code.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team.
· Problem solving abilities and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Etc.)
