- Record merchandise inventory purchases in both Inventory and Accounts Payable subsidiary ledgers
- Verify invoice pricing against purchase orders and quotes
- Monitor and adjust inventoriable cost of items based on purchase and/or manufacturing cost history
- Apply intercompany and external freight costs to inventory
- Calculate and apply vendor rebates
- Initiate electronic payment to vendors
- Setup and maintain system item codes
- Reconcile merchandise inventory sub-ledger balances to the general ledger monthly
- Compile and distribute a variety of inventory and general accounting reports for management
- Assist with ad hoc accounting analysis and special projects
- Associates degree in accounting and/or 3 years of accounting experience preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated proficiency with all Microsoft Office Suite products, with an emphasis on Excel
- Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and sound research skills
- Strong work ethic, with the ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize workload
