Type: Full Time/Salary/Supervisory
Reports to: Branch Manager/ CEO
Dakota Premium Hardwoods, LLC specializes in the distribution of Hardwood Lumber, laminate, molding, cabinet hardware and more to the Woodworking Industry and is seeking an Operations Manager for its Punta Gorda branch.
Position Summary:
Run the Day-to-Day Operations of the Dakota Punta Gorda branch from open to close every day: from Customer Service to inventory control, workflow, safety, warehouse organization, culture building, employee management to cost management. The purpose of the position is to increase operational efficiency, customer experience, sales and safety at the branch. The ideal candidate has a granular knowledge of Operations of a Distribution yard with at least 3-years experience. Warehouse management system knowledge is a must.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage a growing employee team
- Warehouse Management System (RF scanners for inventory control and order pulling)
- Manage the daily operations of the branch
- Oversee Organization and Safety (We have a Warehouse Manager)
- Oversee Will Call Sales Team and daily delivery Operations
- Oversee Branch Safety (We have Corporate and branch safety leaders)
- Evaluate all aspects of the Operations on a granular level to improve efficiency and profitability
- Provide leadership to all branch members to help create a great work environment with outstanding customer service, efficiency and profitability.
Position Requirements:
Education:
School of Hard Knocks Building Materials 3-years industry experience.
A Focus on Hardwood Lumber and Plywood is a plus.
Must have inventory control and warehouse management systems experience.
Majure Data, Epicor and DMSI Agility knowledge a plus.
Skills/Experience:
- Excellent communication skills
- Leadership skills with a love for teaching and growing people
- Competent computer skills (Experience with Agility Distribution Software a plus but not required
- 3-Years plus experience in Distribution – expertise in Hardwood Lumber and Plywood is a plus. Knowledge of Cabinet Hardware also a plus
- Willingness to lead, learn and grow,proving to be an effective leader with a strong and dependable work ethic
Hours: Monday through Friday 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM
