Concrete Foundation Laborer
Job Overview
Dakota Foundations & Flatwork is looking for a dependable, hardworking Concrete Foundation Laborer to join our team. We are a well-established concrete company with over 20 years of experience working on residential, multifamily, and commercial projects.
As a Concrete Foundation Laborer, you will work alongside an experienced crew constructing concrete foundations, footings, walls, and slabs. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in quality workmanship, and wants to be part of a hardworking construction team.
Concrete or construction experience is preferred, but we are willing to train motivated individuals who are dependable and ready to learn.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the setup, placement, pouring, and finishing of concrete foundations, footings, walls, and slabs
- Set, brace, and strip concrete forms
- Assist with layout and site preparation
- Install and secure rebar and other reinforcing materials
- Pour, spread, level, and finish concrete
- Operate hand tools, power tools, concrete equipment, and other construction equipment safely
- Assist with concrete pumps and placement equipment
- Read measurements and assist with interpreting construction plans and drawings
- Load, unload, move, and organize construction materials and equipment
- Assist with concrete curing and other foundation-related tasks
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite
- Follow company and construction safety procedures
- Work effectively with foremen and other crew members
- Perform physically demanding work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Qualifications
- Concrete, foundation, or general construction experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license required
- CDL is a plus, but not required
- Experience with concrete forms, rebar, pouring, or finishing is a plus
- Familiarity with construction hand tools, power tools, and equipment
- Ability to read measurements; experience reading construction plans or blueprints is a plus
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb, and perform physical labor throughout the workday
- Strong work ethic and attention to quality
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a crew
- Dependable transportation and reliable attendance
- Safety-conscious and willing to follow all jobsite safety requirements
- Willingness to work more than 40 hours per week when needed
- Some weekend work may occasionally be required
