Appraiser Interns performs technical procedures to assist Assessing Services staff in appraising real estate for purposes of property taxation and related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of an undergraduate program with a major in Real Estate, ore related field of study which includes successful completion of upper-level real estate specific course work.

Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)\
- Must be currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of an undergraduate program
- Must be currently licensed in a real estate field or have 6 months previous work experience in a real estate field
- Have a valid driver's license
- Pursuant to Dakota County Policy and Procedures Manual Section 3102(K), this position is designated as Safety Sensitive.

- Perform appraisal tasks according to proper assessment procedures; including tasks such as compiling data on properties, inspecting properties or buildings, and determining characteristics such as building age, size, quality of construction, availability of utilities, and other attributes that could affect value.
- Perform desktop inspections of properties utilizing aerial photography and GIS mapping to verify exterior property characteristics and look for changes. Update computer aided mass appraisal (CAMA) system with current property data.
- Collect data for other staff appraisers/supervisors.
- Compile and review data for input to the computer assisted mass appraisal system.
- Learn and efficiently operate various computer software and programs.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ability to work effectively with the public, department and County associates in a professional manner.

- Ability to use computers and computer programs proficiently.
