Working closely with internal teams and external suppliers, the Buyer/Planner helps drive supply chain efficiency and supports daily operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute day-to-day purchasing activities, including processing purchase requisitions, issuing purchase orders, maintaining accurate data, and managing inventory levels for assigned raw materials and components.
- Monitor the status of incoming materials and track shipments to ensure timely delivery, escalating and resolving issues as needed.
- Expedite orders and production processes when necessary to meet operational timelines.
- Maintain data accuracy within procurement systems, including adjustment entries and system records.
- Assist in resolving procurement discrepancies, such as pricing or receiving mismatches.
- Manage relationships with suppliers/vendors, addressing any performance or supply chain issues proactively.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments to support operational goals and align planning activities.
- Handle receipt acknowledgments and ensure accurate recordkeeping of purchasing activities.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and participate in special projects as assigned.
- Utilize pull system or other replenishment methodologies to ensure material availability and minimize inventory excess.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in purchasing, planning, or supply chain roles within a manufacturing environment.
- Highly organized with strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced setting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant business software.
- Comfortable working in both office and plant environments.
- Ability to take initiative and contribute to team-based problem solving.
- Willingness to take on additional duties and special assignments as needed.
