Dakota Bodies is now hiring Day, Night, and Weekend Brake Press Operators. New to the Brake Press or a seasoned veteran, we are willing to consider anyone eager enough to learn - as long as you can lift up to 50 pounds!
Starting pay: $20.00 per hour, DOE
Night Shift Differential: $2.00 per hour

Job Duties And Tasks
- Sets stops on machine bed, changes die, and adjusts components, such as ram or power press, when making multiple or successive passes.
- Operates power press, power brake, apron brake, swaging machine, foot-powered press, hydraulic press, or arbor press according to specifications.
- Installs, aligns, and secures gears, holding fixtures, dies to machine bed, using gauges, templates, feelers, shims, and hand tools.
- Plans sequence of operations, applying knowledge of physical properties of metal.
- Inspects workpiece for defects.
- Measures workpiece and verifies dimensions and weight, using micrometer, template, straightedge, and scale.
- Selects and positions flat, block, radius, or special purpose die sets into ram and bed of machine, using hoist, crane, measuring instruments and hand tools.
Knowledge, Experience, Education
- Experience preferred but will train. (preferably using an Accurpress Brake ETS 3000 Control) or complete training at the Watertown, SD facility.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Mechanical -- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Ability to read blueprints
- Ability to read a tape measure
