Position Summary: As Material Handler 2, you will play a crucial role in our Plant’s operations.
The Material Handler 2 is responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient movement of raw materials, components, work-in-process, and finished goods throughout the manufacturing facility. This role supports production by ensuring materials are staged, replenished, and transported according to established schedules and inventory control procedures. The Material Handler follows all safety, quality, and operational guidelines to maintain workflow continuity and minimize downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
· Inspect materials for defects, quantity, and quality including UPS, FedEx, and Amazon packages.
· Locate and move stock to pallets or crates for storage or shipment.
· Pick, stage, and deliver materials to production lines in alignment with production schedules and Kanban or inventory pull systems.
· Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment safely and in accordance with company policies.
· Maintain accurate inventory records through barcode scanning, inventory software, or ERP transactions.
· Replenish line stock, raw materials, and packaging supplies to prevent production interruptions.
· Organize, label, and store materials to maintain a clean, efficient, and compliant warehouse environment.
· Participate in continuous improvement activities related to inventory flow, material handling efficiency, and 5S.
· Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and adherence to forklift and equipment safety protocols.
· Communicate material shortages, discrepancies, or quality issues to supervisors and inventory control personnel.
· Support shipping and receiving functions as needed.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:Qualifications:
· Minimum 0-3 years of material handling, warehouse, or manufacturing experience preferred.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
· Ability to frequently lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs. or more.
· Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
· Ability to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
· Ability to work effectively with colleagues.
· Accurate counting and measuring.
· Understand and follow both written and verbal instructions.
· Proficiency in using inventory management software and MS Office applications.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
· Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
Qualifications Preferred but Not Required:
· Basic understanding of inventory control practices and ERP or warehouse management systems.
· Ability to read and interpret work orders and production schedules.
Work Environment:
· Manufacturing floor and warehouse environment with exposure to moving equipment, noise, and varying temperatures.
· Requires use of PPE including steel-toed footwear, safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection as designated.
Physical Requirements:
· Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, and material movement weighing 50 pounds.
