Position Overview
We are looking for a Senior BI Developer to join our team. Daisy Brand is modernizing its data platform and data visualization strategies from a traditional solution (SQL Server, SSIS, and Tableau) to a more modern cloud data platform using Azure SQL Managed Instance and Microsoft Fabric.
The ideal candidate will play a key role in orchestrating the transition to a modern data platform, have a deep technical understanding of Power BI and possess strong business acumen to translate customer use cases into compelling and efficient visualization designs. This role will drive innovation, enhance user experience, and enable data democratization across our organization.
This is a full-time position located at the Dallas office and may require occasional travel to Daisy’s manufacturing sites. This position will abide by the hybrid/work-from-home policies for the Corporate IT team.

Key Responsibilities
Collaboration
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, often in ambiguous situations, to determine business information and reporting requirements.
- Foster improved alignment of technology initiatives with business strategies by building and maintaining relationships with technology teams and business partners.
- Provide technical and architectural guidance to projects and teams to ensure effective reporting and analyses.
- Define, design, develop, document, and maintain Power BI data models and visualizations.
- Implement advanced techniques using Power BI Premium, TMDL, XMLA Endpoints, and Tabular Editor 3 to elevate our analytics capabilities.
- Develop and maintain complex DAX, Power Query formula language (M), and T-SQL queries.
- Stay informed about new developments and technologies through continuous learning, industry publications, vendor contacts, trainings, etc.
- Provide guidance on Power BI security, user mapping, and app deployment.
- Maintain adherence to security and architectural standards as well as usability design principles.
- Thorough understanding of PowerBI architecture and capabilities such as CI/CD pipelines, data modeling, security, architecture, etc.
- Experience with connecting to SQL Server databases to pull data
- Strong knowledge of PowerBI dashboard development, Data Visualization concepts, ETL processes, Data Architectures, and Data Modeling.
- Must have an analytical mind, be a critical thinker and problem solver.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams.
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and competing objectives in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven experience working in a team oriented, collaborative environment.
- Familiarity with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, and/or SSIS
- Knowledge of Azure services, including Azure Data Lake
- Experience implementing API calls
- Experience with manufacturing data
- Knowledge of D365 Finance and Operations data
