Daily's Premium Meats Training Supervisor (Montana Site)

SUMMARY: The Training Supervisor is responsible for developing and implementing production training programs, including but not limited to, technical training, employee development, management, leadership, and safety training. Coordinates activities of trainers at the MSL Plant. Other responsibilities include responsible for operations, production, safety, and policy enforcement for the department. Ensuring daily reports are being completed accurately and timely, ensure employee weekly time sheets are properly filled out and approved. Plan and review the project work with the Production Manager; administer HACCP and GMP policies. Maintain lofty standards of excellence, attention to detail and the willingness/flexibility to work through peak work cycles.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Including The Following

• In conjunction with the Director of Talent Development, develops, implements, and evaluates production and career training programs, manuals, curriculum, and courses including leadership and management training programs.
• Selects trainers.
• Train the trainers.
• Plant administrator of talent development learning management system – “Alchemy/L2L”
• Monitors trainers during classroom and on-the-floor training to evaluate performance.
• Develops and conducts programs for the continuing development of trainers.
• Identify and report operational and maintenance problems to prevent production delays.
• Optimize production operations to meet quality and performance standards.
• Ensure safety measures and procedures are followed to reduce unexpected incidents and hazards.
• Ensure production process is carried out in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Maintain proper records and logs of activities and operating conditions, and down time.
• Prepare production schedules and keep updated.
• Ensure monitoring and prescribed checks of all operating equipment are carried out as required for proper operation.
• Follow production reports and troubleshoot any issues offering potential solutions and daily reports to Management.
• Understand, support, and help implement goals and objectives, and on-going improvement plans and activities.
• Facilitate communication between the Training Department and all other departments.
• Facilitate an environment conducive to original thinking and new ideas.
• Facilitates a teamwork atmosphere.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable law. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: A Bachelor of Science degree is preferred; or two (2) years or more related experience and/or training in leadership roles; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret in the English language. Must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from Managers and Supervisors.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply mathematical formulas to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Must be able to make decisions on routine matters of policies. Ability to define and solve practical problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to deal with several abstract and concrete variables in handling situations.

DECISION MAKING RESPONSIBILITIES: Must work primarily in an advisory capacity. Have informal contact daily with supervisor and department supervisors. Changes involving programs, policies, and procedures require higher approval. Good organizational and writing skills necessary to track and document production reports.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Lift 50 lbs. occasionally. Must be able to move to all areas of production efficiently and effectively. Must be able to climb ladders or platforms. Must be able to wear all safety and production related equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work environment varies from an office setting, production floor and outside climate conditions, based on the situation. Noise level may vary within areas of the plant. Must be able to

Tolerate cold (45 degrees or colder) and wet conditions.

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: The hours and days of work are established as needed by operations and at the discretion of management and may be adjusted (increased or decreased) by management as required. Must be able to work a flexible schedule as necessary.
