Shipping/Receiving Crew responsibilities include but are not limited to loading & unloading trucks, storing materials, picking, palletizing, and scanning orders. Provides day-to-day assistance to Supervisor/Management. Responsible for understanding Daily’s GMP’s and safety policies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following:
- Palletize and organize loads for shipment using correct stacking order. Ensure accuracy of each pallet and entire load
- Prepare and complete all necessary paperwork including bills of lading and invoices
- Ensure trucks are loaded in correct order for LTL transit, first stop loaded last, etc.
- Responsible for large quantities of product. Must be always honest and ethical to avoid unnecessary losses
- Assist in weekly, monthly, and year-end inventories and maintains accurate counts
- Rotates to related duties within the Shipping department
- Keep warehouse area clean and well organized.
- Uses wireless handheld scanner for accurate inventory reporting and recordkeeping
- Follow procedures outlined by Department Supervisor/Department Lead
- Follow Daily’s attendance and punctuality rules
- Follow Daily’s Good Manufacturing Processes
- Follow Daily’s Safety Guidelines as outlined in Safety Handbook
- Performs other related responsibilities, as needed, to support Daily’s business objectives
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Must be computer literate and able to learn new computer programs quickly
- Ability to conduct inventories correctly
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and loading/unloading of trucks
- Know proper and common procedures for loading trucks
- Advanced skills with forklifts and electric pallet jacks preferred
- Ability to read, write and speak English is vital to allow communication with drivers, customers, and shipping companies
- Strong communication skills and ability to perform in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills including ability to accurately add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Capability of working with and calculating percentages
- Must be able to lift and carry at least up to 50 pounds consistently
- Standing and walking for up to 10 hours a day on concrete and wet surfaces
- Visual abilities required for this job include close and distance vision
- Must be able to wear all assigned personal protective equipment (PPE) for the position while working
