Restaurant Host/Hostess

Job Description

Daigo Sushi Roll Bar is seeking a friendly, organized, and customer-focused Restaurant Host/Hostess to welcome guests and support the front-of-house team. This role involves greeting customers, managing seating flow, assisting with reservations or waitlists, answering basic restaurant questions, and helping create a positive dining experience. The ideal candidate is professional, attentive, and comfortable working in a busy restaurant environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome guests promptly and provide friendly, professional service
• Manage the entrance, seating flow, and guest waitlist
• Assist with reservations and communicate estimated wait times
• Escort guests to tables and provide menus when appropriate
• Coordinate with servers and other front-of-house team members
• Answer general questions about the restaurant and menu
• Monitor the host area and guest-facing spaces to keep them organized
• Assist with customer requests and direct questions to the appropriate team member
• Help maintain clean and presentable menus, host areas, and service spaces
• Communicate changes in guest flow and seating needs with the restaurant team
• Support opening and closing duties as assigned
• Follow restaurant service, safety, and cleanliness procedures

Qualifications

• Previous host/hostess, restaurant, hospitality, retail, or customer-service experience is helpful
• Friendly, respectful, and professional communication style
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
• Reliable, punctual, and responsible
• Comfortable working in a busy restaurant environment
• Able to remain courteous and organized during busy service periods
• Good attention to detail when managing seating and guest information
• Able to work effectively with servers, kitchen staff, and management
• Willingness to learn restaurant procedures and service standards

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
