Looking for a flexible PRN opportunity where you can make a meaningful impact? Dahlia Gardens Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our rehabilitation team.
In this role, you'll help residents regain independence, improve their ability to perform everyday activities, and enhance their overall quality of life. You'll work alongside an experienced interdisciplinary team that values collaboration, clinical excellence, and resident-centered care.
Position Summary
As a PRN Occupational Therapist, you will evaluate residents, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide skilled occupational therapy services that promote functional independence and successful recovery. This position offers the flexibility of PRN scheduling while providing the opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of those you serve.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate residents and develop individualized treatment plans based on physician referrals and clinical assessments.
Provide skilled occupational therapy treatments focused on improving activities of daily living (ADLs), mobility, strength, coordination, and independence.
Monitor resident progress and modify treatment plans as needed to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs), rehabilitation technicians, and students as appropriate.
Complete timely and accurate documentation in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.
Educate residents, caregivers, and nursing staff on therapy techniques, adaptive equipment, and home exercise programs.
Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and the interdisciplinary care team to develop comprehensive care plans and facilitate safe discharge planning.
Maintain knowledge of Medicare, insurance guidelines, and rehabilitation best practices.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, departmental meetings, and continuing education opportunities.
Help maintain a safe, organized therapy environment and travel to nearby affiliated facilities as needed (travel reimbursement provided).
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
Current or eligible Occupational Therapist license in the state of North Carolina.
Experience in skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or long-term care is preferred but not required.
Strong clinical reasoning, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to safely assist residents with mobility and transfers, including lifting up to 50 pounds when necessary.
Commitment to providing compassionate, resident-centered care.
Flexibility to travel locally and work PRN hours as needed.
