About The Role

Our client is a leading healthcare payer serving members across Minnesota, dedicated to expanding equitable access to care and information. We’re hiring a Language Services Manager to lead enterprise language services—translation, localization, interpreting, and bilingual staff programs—to ensure multilingual communications are high-quality, scalable, culturally appropriate, and compliant.

In this role, you’ll modernize language operations through translation technology (including memoQ administration and optimization) and help guide the responsible use of AI-enabled language solutions with a human-in-the-loop approach appropriate for regulated healthcare content. You’ll partner across compliance, legal, clinical, digital, and communications teams to support accreditation readiness and regulatory expectations for language access.

Job Description

The Language Services Manager will oversee end-to-end language services strategy and execution at the enterprise level. This includes owning the translation management ecosystem, setting quality standards and governance, managing vendors and service-level agreements, and establishing measurable performance outcomes. The role is highly cross-functional and requires strong leadership, operational discipline, and proven experience implementing language technology and AI-enabled workflows in regulated environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and scale enterprise language services, including translation, localization, interpretation, and bilingual staff programs.
• Own and administer the memoQ translation management system, including workflows, translation memory, terminology, QA processes, and reporting.
• Evaluate and implement AI-enabled language solutions (e.g., machine translation, AI-assisted QA) using human-in-the-loop models aligned to healthcare content risk levels.
• Partner with compliance, legal, clinical, digital, and communications stakeholders to ensure language access supports accreditation standards and regulatory expectations.
• Establish and maintain quality standards, governance, and performance metrics for multilingual content and services.
• Manage external language service providers, including contracts, SLAs, performance tracking, and continuous improvement.
• Manage language services budgets, forecasting, and cost optimization initiatives.
• Monitor trends and best practices in localization, language technology, AI governance, and healthcare communications.
  
  

Qualifications

Required Qualifactions:

• Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Translation, Communications, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
• 8–10 years of experience in language services, localization, or multilingual content operations (healthcare experience strongly preferred).
• Demonstrated hands-on experience with memoQ in an enterprise environment.
• Experience integrating or managing machine translation and AI-assisted language workflows in regulated settings.
• Strong understanding of healthcare language access expectations, accreditation considerations, and multilingual quality standards.
• Proven leadership experience including vendor management and cross-functional collaboration.
• Strong analytical, project management, and communication skills.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree and/or professional certification (e.g., ATA, localization credentials, PMP).
• Fluency in one or more languages in addition to English.
• Experience developing enterprise language services governance practices or establishing a center of excellence.
