Job Description
In this role, you will support accurate financial reporting, ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies, and provide forecasting and analysis that informs leadership decisions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, lead key financial processes, support audits, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of divisional financial results in compliance with policies and GAAP
- Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, general ledger maintenance, financial statements, P&L variance analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare and submit required FRIDA data and complete analytical reviews
- Complete all required monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting, including tax kits and annual GEP spend data
- Manage credit and collection efforts, credit analysis, and credit monitoring of customers
- Approve expenditures and analyze proposals for larger facility and equipment projects
- Plan and conduct annual physical inventory, including instructions, monitoring, and results review
- Complete required government surveys and annual internal control questionnaires
- Assist with internal and external audits
- Prepare financial forecasts, outlooks, and monthly flash reports for leadership
- Support annual business planning and long-range planning activities
- Review plan vs. actual expenses, identify material variances, and recommend actions
- Develop capital requests, supplemental requests, and required post-audits
- Conduct P&L reviews, inventory grading, reserve analyses, sales tax reporting, and commentary preparation
- Analyze product margins and collaborate with production, engineering, and customer service teams
- Analyze and set labor and burden rates for shop resources
- Review and provide input on customer pricing to achieve target margins
- Prepare sourcing and process improvement submissions related to ongoing savings initiatives
- Build cross-department credibility and support collaboration across functional areas
- Lead simplification and process-improvement projects in alignment with 80/20 principles
- Review approved suppliers annually and recommend additions or removals
- Participate in 80/20 data analysis and support related process improvement efforts
- Assist with special projects and additional accounting functions as needed
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with peers and management
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines
- Positive attitude and team-oriented approach
- Demonstrated initiative and adaptability in a changing environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ability to learn new software quickly
- Knowledge of GAAP
- CPA or MBA
- Public accounting experience
