Job Description
The Construction Loan Coordinator is responsible for managing construction loan transactions from initial processing through end-loan sale. This position oversees 1x Close, 2x Close, Lot, and Rehab loan products and serves as a key point of contact for internal and external partners throughout the loan lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Manage full-cycle (A–Z) processing of construction loan products, including processing, closing, shipping, post-closing, draws, and customer service
- Maintain an active pipeline of approximately 20–25 loans per month from processing through closing
- Serve as a primary liaison with loan officers, processors, title companies, inspectors, and customers
- Ensure compliance with program guidelines, internal policies, and applicable state and federal regulations
- Perform accurate data entry and loan maintenance across multiple platforms (e.g., Encompass, construction management systems)
- Authorize wires, reconcile accounts, and ensure consistency across financial systems
- Support departmental growth initiatives through testing, research, and process improvement projects
- Mentor and support team members by acting as a subject-matter resource in designated functional areas
- Deliver a high level of customer service by building strong relationships and maintaining professional communication
- Safeguard sensitive information and comply with information security policies
- Maintain prompt and reliable attendance and complete additional duties as assigned
Required
- Minimum of 2 years of mortgage processing experience
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple files simultaneously
- Experience using Excel spreadsheets in a business or financial setting
- Ability to analyze construction projects and make risk-based decisions in accordance with internal guidelines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to meet high-pressure deadlines where accuracy is critical
- Professional demeanor and ability to collaborate with diverse, high-performing teams
- Experience processing construction loan transactions (1x Close, 2x Close, Lot, or Rehab)
- Familiarity with loan origination and construction management systems (e.g., Encompass or similar platforms)
- Experience working in a regulated financial services environment
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to change and support continuous improvement initiatives
