The role typically involves approximately 70% sitting and 30% walking. Regular verbal communication and active listening are required. Work is primarily performed in an office environment with standard noise and temperature levels, with occasional time spent in production areas where noise levels may be louder and consistent with normal shop conditions. - Produce detailed and accurate drawings based on CAD models, specifications, plans, or concepts
- Apply modeling and drafting protocols, design conventions, and applicable industry standards
- Follow established standard work practices to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and consistency
- Develop drawings that support effective and efficient manufacturing methods
- Maintain and update CAD models and drawing databases to ensure ongoing accuracy
- Provide drafting support for both new and legacy parts
- Review and verify drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards
- Collaborate with team members to reduce product variation and support design consistency
- Support continuous improvement efforts within drafting and design processes
Required
- Associate degree in CAD or a closely related technical field, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical, structural, and engineering drawings and specifications
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High level of attention to detail and professional work habits
- Solid mathematical skills, including fractions, decimals, geometry, and basic algebra
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
