Principal Electrification Systems Engineering Lead

Are you equally comfortable on a jobsite and in design software—mentoring, approving, and troubleshooting from concept through labeling?

If so, D‑Riven Engineered Solutions invites you to lead our electrification portfolio—owning power distribution design, infrastructure evaluations, and installation/relocation programs across diverse industrial facilities.

Starting Annual Pay: $111,000 - $120,000

What this role covers
  • Technical leadership for the Industrial Electrification Engineering team, including guidance to Senior Electrical Engineers and Electrical Superintendents.
  • Site surveys and assessments of existing power systems; capacity and load verification; creation and approval of one-line drawings.
  • Design and/or design approval of industrial power distribution, optimizing for material utilization, lead times, integration downtime, and installation simplicity.
  • Research and application of electrical/building codes and best practices across every deliverable.
  • Stakeholder coordination supporting project costing, quoting, work planning, and risk mitigation.
  • Pre-kickoff planning: schedule development, resourcing, and mobilization with operations and program management.
  • Material takeoffs, procurement support, and sourcing of alternates with rigorous compatibility checks.
  • Direction of internal electricians and subcontractors; verification of LOTO prior to task start.
  • Field support for troubleshooting—remote and on-site—as issues emerge.
  • Installation oversight and approval for Unistrut frames/hangers, cable tray, conduit, panels, disconnects, junction boxes, and motors.
  • Housekeeping leadership: uphold clean, orderly, and safe work areas, machines, tools, and equipment.
  • Close collaboration with low-voltage/controls experts for smooth, integrated deployments.
  • Arc flash studies and application of labels at project completion.
  • Other routine site responsibilities as directed by site management.
Must-haves
  • Industrial-focused electrical engineering experience with strong field acumen.
  • Expert ability to read, interpret, and produce electrical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • Proficiency with Autodesk Electrical Suite for engineering design.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project).
  • Demonstrated project management and people leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving; proven collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Current knowledge of NEC, building codes, and industry best practices—with strict adherence.
  • Availability for nights/weekends, variable schedules, and extra hours when needed.
Credentials
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent discipline).
  • 15 years of combined experience in electrical engineering, industrial electrical installation/maintenance, or a comparable field.
  • Experience operating aerial lifts and other powered equipment.
Travel & work conditions
  • Frequent travel (30%–40%) across the United States.
  • Personal, well-maintained vehicle appropriate for interstate travel.
