The 2nd Shift Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a variety of skilled duties related to the maintenance, repair, and improvement of buildings, equipment, and grounds. This includes preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and responding to service requests to ensure safe, clean, and functional facilities. Working on second shift requires a high degree of independence, self-direction, and sound judgment, as the technician will often prioritize tasks and resolve issues with limited on-site supervision. The role requires strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively with other department associates, co-workers, vendors, and leadership in a professional and service-based manner.
Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience.
- Ability to stand, twist, bend, and walk for a 10-hour shift.
- Ability to lift and carry 35lbs.
- Knowledge of Lock out/tag out.
Safety, Quality & Productivity
- Perform all work with safety as the top priority.
- Identify, report, and address potential safety hazards in a timely manner.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures while performing maintenance activities.
- Complete all tasks to a high standard to maintain equipment and facilities in like-new or better condition.
- Ensure repairs and maintenance are completed accurately and effectively to support reliable operations.
Maintenance & Operations
- Perform assigned corrective and preventative maintenance on building systems, including plumbing, lighting, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC.
- Perform assigned corrective and preventative maintenance on operating equipment, including conveyors, electric motors/gearboxes, and automated machinery.
- Support the development and execution of routine maintenance schedules and procedures for facility systems and production equipment.
- Safely operate electric forklifts in accordance with company policies and training requirements.
- Safely operate personnel lifts up to 35 feet and climb ladders as required to complete maintenance tasks.
Facility & Grounds Care
- Maintain facility grounds through tasks such as weed removal, sweeping, leaf blowing, and snow removal.
- Support facility upkeep by performing tasks such as waste removal, stocking restroom supplies, and cleaning floors as needed.
Continuous Improvement
- Support and adhere to 6S/Lean workplace organization standards to maintain an efficient and organized work environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Electrical, plumbing, carpentry, pneumatics, and HVAC experience.
- First Aid, CPR, EMT.
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
